A night at the Opera

I think our blog has gone onto two pages as we have now uploaded some photos - so please don't forget to scroll down and look at previous pages. A&I xx

Last night we had a lovely evening at Sydney Opera House. We have a pre opera dinner at Aria which was very nice.
The sound from the opera house was phenomenal, we both said it was the best opera we have ever been to (La Traviata). We had very good seats. The set & costumes were amazing. When we left the opera house there was fireworks set off as the Aurora Cruise ship sailed away from Sydney Harbour. Unfortunately we have no photographs of last night as our new digital camera has broken, only 3 weeks old...... dont worry we will be getting a replacement today and we have Ians big SLR. Oh that reminds me, lets update some photos onto the site.

We had some fun on bondi beach today, the water was freezing, but we braved the ice cold pacific waters, waves & the stinging bluebottle jelly fish.......

Today we are going to Manly and The Aquarium, we did want to go to Blue Mountains, however there is still so much to see and do here.

Tonight we have a dinner at Tetsuyas, the 4th best Restaurant in the World & ranked the best Restaurant in Australia, so very much looking forward to this, booked about 6 months in advance!

Will report all tomorrow.

Bye for now

Glorious Weather here in Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness, the weather has improved dramatically!

Last night we went on the bridge climb, climed around 1500 steps, was not too exhausting. The views were amazing from the top & it was lovely to see the skyline in the evening. We have a seaplane booked later in the month when we return to Sydney after all our other travels, so looking forward to seeing the skyline in the day.

No Gourmet Dinning for the "Marsons" last night, which makes a big change!!!!! :-) Instead, we went to Harrys Bar, which seemingly is very famous and does the best PIES, yes I said Pies, in Austrailia......., So we had a pie and went to bed!!!!!! Quite tasty actually!

Today we are going to head down to Bondi and chill out a little bit. This evening we have the Opera, we are going to see La Traviata, with a pre opera dinner, so quite looking forward to that.....

Ok now off to get brekkie, speak later!

Hope all is well with all of you!!!

We arrived in Sydney, after a very comfortable 7 hour flight from Singapore.

We are staying at the Park Hyatt, and this is a really nice hotel, we have a view of Sydney Opera house in front of our room. An impressive view to wake up to in the morning, by operating the remote control curtains!!! If anyone was coming to Sydney really recommend staying here!

The weather yesterday was awful & I mean awful, felt really dissapointed.

It was meant to be a chilled out day, however it was anything but that!!!! We took the Sydney Explorer Bus and visited the Opera House, Luna Park, the Botanic Gardens, Kings Cross, Woolloomooloo Bay, Mrs Macquaries Chare, Wynyard Station, China Town, Had a lovely lunch at Oyster Bay Cove & wow those oysters were to die for, the best tasting Oysters I have ever had.

Today, we had a walk around the shops, viewed a few paintings of Sydney - currently deciding what one to buy. We then bought some clothes.

In the afternoon we took a water taxi from our hotel to Rose Bay - where we had a lovely lunch. It was in a restaurant called Pier, meant to be the best Seafood in the country & we must admit it was pretty good. We then walked to Darling Harbour which was v nice after that we took the commuter ferry back to Circular Quay (we thought what a lovely way to commute on a daily basis to work) I wish......

Tonight we are going on the Sydney Bridge Climb, I sincerely hope that it is not too exhausting. We have walked miles already!!

Seems as though we have no more jet lag, so thats good. Feel much better.

Well we still have so much to do and see here in Sydney. We leave here on Friday, so still have 2 1/2 days left to see the rest of Sydney. Hope the weather improves.

Better now go and get some comfortable clothes on for this climb, so shall switch off the soap box and speak to you all again soon.

A x

Our last day in Singapore

Well yesterday was a chilled out day until the evening!!!!

Angela got some spa treatments which was nice. We then headed round the Arab area & Little India. Its very humid & hot. Afternoon snooze was then required!!!

In the evening we went to Orchard Road, it was sooooooooo busy, and the parade was very good. We had to search for a cab for around 1 hour and walked miles in that hot humid heat, ugh - yuck.

Just as we were going for dinner, walking up the road, all we hear is someone shout "Ian", would you believe in Singapore, what a small world it is. It was an ex colleague from AT Kearney, who is currently working out in Singapore!!!!

We then went to an Indochine restaurant, which had al fresco dinning, very nice - watching all the river boats go up and down the river. We had a nice bottle of champage, and thought, this really is the life!!! If only every day was like this. We then headed to China town, which was dead!!!! Everyone was obviously participating in the Parade. We ended our evening in the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel once again with a few Singapore slings.

Today we are just going to relax, meet the guy whom we met last night for Champagne Brunch at The Fullerton Hotel. We will then head to the airport for our flight to Sydney, so exciting!!!

Until later.......

We have arrived

Finally we are in Singapore & feeling v jet lagged!!! Oh well.

Last night we managed to stay up until past midnight.

We went to Clarke Quay and found a really cool bar, it was called Clinic - basically cocktails were served in a drip - quite cool. In the club, it was blowing out cold steam!!!!!

We then went back to hotel in Rickshaw, poor man, carrying our tonne weight. He was sweating quite badly by the end of the journey!

Today just chilling out, getting some spa treatments, then there is a parade on Orchard Road this evening for Chinese New Year, so will go to Orchard Road to see this and do some shopping!!! yippee.....

The hotel cool, the suite bigger than my flat in London, it is massive, service excellent, but more colonial in style.

Catch up later.
